THE ORIGINS OF IGUANA CROSSING BOUTIQUE HOTEL
The best way to strengthen development in a community is to include it in the creation of better touristic services. Two years ago a project began with clear goals and a new vision of hotel accommodations in the Galapagos Islands, producing a high quality infrastructure with the highest standards in hotels worldwide.
 
Using sustainable ecological technology as a base, Boutique Hotel Iguana Crossing's installations have been meticulously designed using sustainable and ecological concepts, maintaining a perfect equilibrium with the environment and applying all of the modern technology we have today.
 
BOUTIQUE HOTEL IGUANA CROSSING WAS CREATED WITH THE GOAL TO CONTRIBUTE TO CONSERVATION OF THE NATURE IN THE GALAPAGOS.
 
Our name derives from our strategic location next to the paths which the local Galapagos marine iguanas use to cross from the wetlands surrounding the Mangles and go toward the beach, creating an opportunity to observe this daily pilgrimage comfortably from the hotel. Boutique Hotel Iguana Crossing is the only "Eco-Hotel" in the Galapagos Islands and was constructed by local artisans using the best materials typical to the region.

DINNING IN ISABELA ISLAND RESTAURANT

Our gastronomy offers a variety of regional food which includes the world famous shrimp or fish ceviche, the traditional sancocho (an authentic Ecuadorian soup which is made with fish and yucca), among other delicious dishes.

Among the chef's special creations we have gourmet fusion dishes. Our specialty is the grill carved out of lava stone, where the real delicacies complete with organic vegetables grown and harvested in our Isabella highland's hacienda are served together with wonderfully tasty fresh fruit juices that enhance the unique flavor of our food.

 
The coffee and the milk also originates from our hacienda, while some of the fruits are from other local farms. The seafood is always fresh with the catch-of-the-day, and the bread is baked fresh every morning in the local bakery.
 

HOTEL IN ISABELA ISLAND
Isabela Island in Galápagos is a fantastic place to visit. It´s the largest island of the archipelago and is also known as the Island of Volcanoes. Is formed by six volcanoes, five are still active, capturing the interest of scientists, geologists and tourists.

 
Puerto Villamil, Isabela´s Island town, has a total population of 2200 people. Its resources of fresh water are very limited; however, towards the south of Sierra Negra and Sierra Azul vocanoes it´s found endemic vegetation creating an ideal area for livestock. All agricultural production is for local consumption only.

 
Geologically, this Island is formed by six volcanoes; five of them are still active, Ecuador, Wolf, Darwin, Alcedo, Sierra Negra y Cerro Azul. Sierra Negra Volcano, the closer to Puerto Villamil has the largest crater in the world, 10 km of diameter. By being the largest island holds about 60% of flora and fauna found around the Galapagos Islands. Tourists and visitors may encounter 5 different species of giant tortoises, flamingos, Galápagos penguins, marine iguanas, sea lions, and white tipped sharks. Its unique diversity allows admiring white sand beaches, salty lagoons, mangroves, and from the top of Sierra Negra volcanoe the most amazing view among some fumaroles.

Our rooms all have double or matrimonial beds, and are distributed throughout the bottom and top floor of the hotel. Although the rooms vary in size, all of them are very spacious with an average of 42 square meters (400 square feet) per room. Our clients can enjoy an impressive view of the Pacific Ocean or the Sierra Negra Volcano. The majority of the rooms have a spacious balcony with a beautiful view of the Galapagos Sea.

 
All of the rooms have LED televisions to watch movies, a telephone, a fridge mini-bar, a small safe and air conditioning.
